I hope you are all well and excited for the game. I know that I am!
As I sit here, playing the demo and seeing the stellar work our team has done so far, it makes me feel incredibly proud of what we have done in such a short space of time. It also makes me think "What else can we do?".
Seeing the world manifest in front of me has given me slightly more ambitious ideas for how I want this game to conclude, so though we previously said you'd see the finished game in the summer, its going to take a little longer.
This is so we can do a number of things. I want your experience to be completely satisfying. I want you to walk away from the game feeling like it was all worth it. So with that in mind, I am thinking BIGGER.
We are working with the stunts and VFX teams from my films HOST and DASHCAM to bring a cinematic level of Horror set-pieces that push what people expect to see in a game (especially a FMV).
I also want to do more World building and have put things in place to further enrich your experience inside and outside of your time playing. I think we were very ambitious to suggest we could make an entire video game in 9 months, but we almost did!
There is just one last part to go and we want to make it right. I'll have a final release date soon, but in the meantime you don't have to wait for new GHOSTS stuff. You've probably already clicked on the link but this video is just one of the things you have to look after within the game.
Here we meet Alice and Pip, the hosts of the TV show GHOSTS. We see them getting ready for the night and give us an intro to what we are about to see. Within the game, you choose what the people at home see, but while this is happening, you have many tasks to take care of in your role as producer/director of this show. Let us know what you are excited about the most in the discord and I'll be dropping in some exclusive photos over the next week to whet your appetite!

Development Update #6 - News & Special Guest Stars

Happy New Year Everyone!
Here at GHOSTS HQ we are nearing the final touches of production and we’ve been having fun playing demos and living in this spooky world we’ve created. Personally I think its going to be a high watermark for FMV and interactive storytelling in general. The work the cast, crew and devs have done so far has been incredible and I cant wait for you guys to see it!
Now because we want this game to be as awesome as possible, we don’t want to rush it out without making it the best it can be. In the production of the game (and being on set) we often come up with innovations that can enrich the experience but implementing them can take some time. Due to our own high standards and having to push back the final block of shooting 3 times due to COVID, we will have to wait until Summer for the release.
This helpfully gives us a little more time to finalise/tweak and shoot some new ideas to place into the game. We are definitely not pulling our punches and have been busy shooting adverts for the in-game world featuring some really cool (and unexpected!) people. I’ve called upon the talents of some very cool people to help me with this too.

Another block of GHOSTS down and this one has really filled out the world we are building. Working with Alice Lowe and Scroobius Pip, who play the hosts of the TV show GHOSTS is an absolute dream. I swear after this I’m going to make a real show with them as the presenters, hunting down ghosts in spooky places! We also get to meet some of the neighbours on the street and learn a little more about the urban legend of The Long Lady! Making this is so much fun and I can’t wait for everyone to play along and discover the mysteries of GHOSTS! - Jed

As we are on the eve of another shooting block for GHOSTS, I am both excited and in awe of all the brilliant people involved. I can't wait to hang out with the ladies again and add Alice Lowe and Scroobius Pip to the mix.
Until then. I've been catching up on films out of FrightFest (where I was a mentor), Fantastic Fest and London Film Festival. Some sneaky previews I've already had is the incredible LAMB from A24 (you'll go vegan) and the insane TITANE. Both showing at London Film Festival over this next couple of weeks.
I've also been playing the demo of GHOSTS that Visible Games have kindly put together for me to see exactly what we have. It looks SO good! Can't wait for you guys to play! - Jed

Backerkit Update
We've also been casting our glare over the Backerkit (that sounded a bit too sinister) and there are less than 100 people now left to complete their pledges. So as of a week today we'll close off the Backerkit so we can begin prepping all of the awesome merchandise that we'll be making!
